Short Story

The short story I chose to picture Truth is "The Dinner Party" by Mona Gardner. Right bellow, there is an important excerpt from the short story.

     " - A woman’s unfailing reaction in any crisis, is to scream. The colonel sais. (...)
     (...) Just a minute.the American says, turning to his hostess.
     - Mrs. Wynnes, how did you know that the cobra was in the room?
     A faint smile lights up the woman's face as she replies.
     - Because it was crawling across my foot"

...I think "The Dinner Party" relates to quote number 2. In this story, they discuss about how women are not able to keep calm in situations of crisis and everybody on the scene seems to agree and believe this statement as truth. However, Mrs. Wynnes disproof this idea that is repeated so many times in society when she controled herself while the cobra was around her feet. As I said in my reflection of quotation 2, very often, truth shows up in the end. Lies can not be hiden forever...
